State records 760 new cases, 11 more succumb

Imphal, July 07 2021:
Government bulletins on Wednesday reported 760 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 5595 samples tested, showing a positivity rate of 13.58 per cent along with 11 death cases and 446 recoveries.
Active caseload has increased to 6534 out of which 2380 are in home isolation and 2309 in CHICs.
At present, a total of 800 patients are admitted to different hospitals, out of which 320 of them are on oxygen support and 52 on ventilator support.
CCCs have 1045 patients as of Tuesday night and 103 of them are on oxygen support.
So far, the state has recorded 44,941 positive cases and 855 death cases during the second wave of the pandemic.
The last seven days saw an addition of 4551 new cases and 79 fatalities.
According to official reports, the 760 new cases included 752 people (362 male & 390 female) from among the general population and 8 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (21), NIMS (96), District Hospitals (460) and other testing centres (183) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (166), Imphal West (247), Thoubal (42), Bishnupur (75), Kakching (76), Ukhrul (4), Churachandpur (76), Chandel (7), Senapati (16), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (7), Noney (7), Jiribam (1), and Kangpokpi (21).The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 11 Covid-19 deaths (4 males & 7 females) in the last 24 hours.
The District wise fatalities are Imphal West (2), Imphal East (4), Bishnupur (4) and Churachandpur (1).Four patients died at RIMS, three at JNIMS, two at Shija Hospitals, and one each at Raj Medicity and DH Churachandpur.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1229.Five of the victims were below 60 years.
Three patients died within 24 hours of arrival in the hospital, one within 48 hours and one within 72 hours.
Three patients did not have any co-morbid conditions.
The 446 patients who were discharged in the last 24 hours are from home isolation (175), RIMS (11), JNIMS (6), CCCs (115) and CHICs (139).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 74,341 (general population -70,448 and CAPF personnel - 3,893).Number of recovered cases is 66,578 (general population - 62,789 and CAPF personnel - 3,789) and number of active cases is 6,534 (general population - 6,435 and CAPF personnel - 99).The recovery rate is 89.55 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1914 D-type and 438 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 406D and 92B filled cylinders while stock distributions made in the last 24 hours are Bishnupur (100D,2B), Chandel (33D,7B), Churachandpur (39D,0B), Senapati (43D,0B), Thoubal (60D,26B), Ukhrul (29D,18B), Tamenglong (19D,0B), Jiribam (48D,13B), Moreh (14D,4B), Kamjong (3D,2B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (7D,18B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,0B) and CCCs (340D,123B).A total of 26,944 individuals were administered Covid vaccine on Tuesday and the cumulative number of vaccinated people has reached 7,96,051 which include 88,867 who have got their second shot of the vaccine.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (25,919), Imphal East (16,416), Thoubal (6246), Churachandpur (6030), Kangpokpi (1856), Tamenglong (2180), Bishnupur (4870), Senapati (1443), Ukhrul (1519), Kakching (3825), Chandel (1249), Noney (599), Tengnoupal (823), Jiribam (776), Kamjong (453) and Pherzawl (137).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (431), Imphal East (320), Thoubal (117), Churachandpur (100), Kangpokpi (32), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (93), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (69), Chandel (18), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (6), Jiribam (4), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 23,958 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,006 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,00,969 tests per million population against the national average of 3,03,743 TPM.
Case fatality rate dropped to 1.65 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 5595 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 13.58 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.96 per cent.
