Rotary Club of Imphal distributes eggs to children's homes under Egg Bank project

Imphal, September 06 2026:
Rotary Club of Imphal (RID-3240) visited two children's homes - Nirvana Children Home for Girls, Ghari Awang Leikai, Imphal West and Poirei Nawakol Children Home for Girls, Achanbigei, Imphal East - today and handed over eggs under its 'Rotary Egg Bank Project' .
In the Rotary Year 2026-27, 121 children of the two homes will be benefited under the project.
A total of 1680 eggs are being provided to the two homes every month to ensure nutritious food for the children.
Rotary Egg Bank is a continuing community service project of the club benefiting children of homes in the State since 2021 .
The project is run purely with voluntary donations from members of Rotary Club of Imphal.
The eggs are procured from local poultry farms to help boost their economy and encourage entrepreneurship.
During the programme, Sadananda Hamom interacted with the children and presented a few songs which inspired and motivated them.
Dr N Muhindro Singh, president, Rotary Club of Imphal said the project reflects the club's commitment to "Service Above Self' and to "Create Lasting Impact" by combining child nutrition, community participation and support for local farmers.
