KCP-MC states its point on 3rd raising day

Imphal, August 02 2010: Starting with the genesis of revolutionary movements, and its various forms, the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (KCP-MC) has stated its points on various issues, the most prominent being the revolutionary movement of Manipur on the occasion of its third raising day which falls on August 3 .

A statement issued by the outfit's military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei traced the revolutionary movement of Manipur to September 21, 1948 when Comrade Hijam Irabot launched an armed movement. Though the revolutionary movement of Manipur is 60 years old, intense confrontation with State forces started about 30 years back.

In the meantime, a revolutionary group of the land presented the case of the alleged forced merger of Manipur with the Indian Union before the Geneva Convention of the UN on January 12, 1997 .

But the question has not led to any international community or body recognising the historical rights of the Manipuri people for self-determination, the outfit remarked.

On the other hand, India is growing stronger and putting in all its resources to suppress and terminate the liberation movement.

In the name of counter insurgency operations, security forces have been killing innocent people like animals after dragging them out from their houses on daily basis in an atmosphere where there is no law or authority to lodge any complaint, the outfit alleged.

Instead of deliberating on the authenticity of the liberation movement, it's time people accept the movement as an inescapable bounden duty of the Manipuri nation.

The solution to all the ills and problems will be realised when Manipur regains its sovereignty, the KCP-MC asserted.

As for the revolutionary movement of Manipur, none can say that it is not legitimate except for a handful of self-centred bourgeoise.

Now the onus of the making the liberation movement mature and complete lies with the people.

The time is right for all visionary revolutionary leaders and military experts to join hands and work together with the people towards the rightful destination of the revolutionary movement.

Broadly, revolutionary movements can be classified as 'Movement for freedom of right and liberties under the constitution' and 'Movement for freedom of self-existence and self-determination'.

The revolutionary movement for self-determination of Manipur is, however, being projected and seen as a movement for earning money, food and pleasure, the outfit lamented.

Under such circumstances, it is crucial to understand the exact meaning of revolution and tread on the right path.

Dwelling on the merits of an internationally accepted liberation movements, the KCP-MC asserted that such mature liberation movement identifies the nation who value independence above all before the international community and helps in forging unity among the oppressed people.

Likewise, the liberation movement of Manipur has been crystallizing its more than 2000 years old history, the outfit said.

It also helps in bringing forth the valour and determination of the Manipur nation which was lying dormant in addition to bringing together all those natives scattered far and wide.

Ultimately, it enables people to sacrifice even their lives for the cause of the nation.

When the people of the land wholly supports the liberation movement, it can be assumed that the movement is successful.

For Manipur, which had all the complete features of a sovereign nation, it can be said that freedom is not far off when the people wholly supports the movement in accordance to the international covenants and documents.

But it is crucial for the Manipuri people to transform themselves as one of the most industrious nation.

Any revolutionary movement based and nurtured by the sweat and blood of peasants and labourers can never be subdued.

As such, peasants and labourers have huge responsibilities to make the revolutionary movement success, the outfit noted.
