Imphal, February 02 2025:
The Peace and Development Coordinating Committee (PDCC) has appealed to the State Government and relevant authorities to look into the condition of the newly constructed bailey bridge at Uyumpok Litanmakhong in Imphal East district.
Speaking to media persons, PDCC president Leimapokpam Joy Singh said that construction of the bailey bridge began in the year 2020-21 under PMGSY.
He asserted that the delay in the construction of the bridge over Iril River is causing a lot of difficulties to the people of Uyumpok and nearby villages.
He also mentioned that poor quality control in the construction and lack of regular maintenance has made the bridge vulnerable to collapse.
Furthermore, Joy Singh urged the Chief Minister and relevant authorities to carry out an inspection of the bridge within three days to ensure its safety and complete the construction work as soon as possible.
