UG cadres apprehended

Troops of the 6 DOGRA and 20 Assam Rifles a joint operation at Pallel Market and apprehended one KCP (MTF) cadre today, according to a release issued by PRO IGAR (South) .
The cadre has been identified as s/s 0902 (Batch No 08), SS Pvt, Habibur Rehman alias Inaocha (32) s/o Late Iboton of Mayang Imphal.
Interrogation revealed his involvement in extortion related activities for his group in Chandel district.
One Pt 22 pistol alongwith three live rounds and Rs 5 Lakhs extortion note was recovered from his possession.
The arrested cadre alongwith the recovered items has been handed over to the Kakching Police Station.
In another operation, troops of the 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) alongwith personnel of Kakching Police launched a joint operation at Kakching Lamkhai and arrested one over ground worker of UKLF yesterday, the release further stated.
The arrested person has been identified as Moirangthem Thambal Singh, s/o Moirangthem Bokul Singh (55) of Khangabok Makha Leikai, Thoubal district.
Interrogation revealed his involvement in extortion related activities for his group in garb of his appointment as the collector for Manipur Driver Welfare Association.
He has been delivering extortion notes for UKLF under the name of Pallel Timber Association.
Two rubber stamps embossed with "Manipur Driver Welfare Association".
Two mobile handsets, Rs 5,000 and one cash receipt of Rs 2,000 were recovered from his possession.
The apprehendee alongwith the recovered items has been handed over to the Kakching Police Station.
