Wangjing Tentha body calls for huge attendance at Khongjom Day event

Imphal, April 22 2017: The Dynamic Youth Development Front, Wangjing Kairembikhok has extended a heartiest welcome on the occasion of this year's Khongjom Day and called for wholehearted participation by one and all at the state level observance.

In a press statement released by its president, the front observed that all the citizens of the state must honour the sacrifice made by our valiant forefathers who laid down their lives at the battle of Khongjom in 1891 choosing a moment of freedom over life as slaves.

The front also appealed to the people of Wangjing Tentha assembly constituency to participate in large number at the Khongjom Day celebration being held tomorrow.

It regretted the announcement made by a certain group claiming that people of the constituency will not be taking part in the celebration, terming the latter's decision as an unfortunate one and motivated by low level politicking.

Reminding that the essence of the celebration is paying obeisance to our departed heroes who paid the ultimate price in fighting to save the freedom of Manipur, the front in the statement informed that it has made preparation and is looking forward to participating at the event and paying floral tributes to the brave soldiers.
