HSLCE-2014: Pass percentage lowest in 3 yrs

Imphal, May 15 2014 : The result of High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE)-2014 conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) was declared today witnessing a moderately high pass percentage of 68, but lowest in the last three years.

In this year's HSLC Examination, Nirmalabas School has outshone all other schools of the State by bagging all top three positions besides six others among the top 25 positions.

Notably, Wangkhei High School has saved the face of all Government schools in this examination by securing the 17th and 20th positions.

Altogether 34275 candidates were enrolled for the HSLC Examination this year, but only 33876 candidates appeared in the examination.

Out of those 33876 appeared candidates, 22985 candidates were declared passed.

A total of 8786 passed candidates have been placed in first division, while 12896 candidates in second division and 1303 candidates in third division.

Interestingly, the boys have outshone the girls in this year's HSLC Examination in term of pass percentage.

Out of the total 15976 male regular candidates appeared in the examination, 11624 candidates were declared passed thereby achieving a pass percentage of 73 .

On the other hand, 10342 female regular candidates out of the total 15451 passed in the examination marking a pass percentage of 67 .

As for the external candidates of this examination numbering 989 male candidates and 1460 female candidates, both male and female candidates performed equally registering a pass percentage of 42 each.

This year's HSLC Examination pass percentage of 68 is the lowest in the last three years of 2011, 2012 and 2013 which recorded pass percentage of 71, 70 and 72 respectively.

All top three position holders of this examination are from Nirmalabas School, Imphal.

The first position is secured by Sarangthem Sharliza Annoly, d/o S Manihar Meitei and Sachikumari Huidrombi of Mongsangei Boroi Makhong, Imphal-West with a total score of 474 marks out of 500 with letter marks in English, Alternative English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.

The second position is bagged by Linthoibi Soram, d/o Soram Ingocha singh and S Sunita Devi of Uripok Haorungbam Leikai Kombirei Keithel with a total score of 471 marks out of 500 with letter marks in English, Alternative English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.

The third position is secured by Luhiya Ngangbam, d/o Ngangbam Kamal Kumar and Ng Bilasini Devi of Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai with a total score of 469 marks out of 500 with letter marks in English, Alternative English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.

The fourth position is secured by Chandam Bidyarani of Tiny Tots' Unique School with 468 marks; fifth position by Zenith Tongbram of Tiny Tots' Unique School with 467 marks; sixth position by Neera Sinam of Nirmalabas School with 464 marks; seventh position by two students Sujata Konjengbam of Loktak Christian Model High School, Moirang and Elangbam Shitaljit Singh of Royal Academy of Advance Learning, Top Siphai with 462 marks each; eighth position by Leimathoi Nongmaithem of Little Flower School with 461 marks; ninth position by seven students namely Loitongbam Bidyasagar Singh of Sanatombi Oriental English School, Kumbi, Konthoujam Malemnganbi Chanu of Sacred Heart School, Yairipok and Teniza Wairokpam of Nirmalabas School, Triveni Wahengbam of Regular English High School, Ningthoujam Illish of Don Bosco High School, Imphal, Khoneesh Ningthoujam of Tiny Tots' Unique School, Harison Yumnam of St.

Joseph's School, Sangaiprou with 460 marks each; 10th position by Ys Sochuiwon Priscilla Khapai of Nirmalabas School with 459 marks.

The 11th position is secured by Chandam Stella Devi of Regular School with 458 marks; 12th position by five students namely Obed Letlensang Haokip of St.

Mary's High School, Ccpur, Aishwariya Chingakham of Catholic School, Victoria Laishram of Catholic School, Premsagar Nambam of Friendship Educational Academy, Khurai and Kailash Kumar Ningthoujam of St.

Joseph's School, Sangaiprou with 457 marks each; 13th position by three students namely Khangembam Nongthangleima Devi of Padma Ratna English School, Kakching, Lairenlakpam Denilson Singh of Tiny Tots' Unique School and Zeon Makamei of St.

Joseph's School, Sangaiprou with 456 marks; 14th position by Kshetrimayum Rushikanta Singh of Padma Ratna English School, Kakching and Yengkhom Arvind Singh of St.

Anthony's High School, Chingmeirong with 455 marks; 15th position by three students namely Huidrom Polen Singh of Standard Robarth Hr.

Thomas School, Kontha Ahallup with 453 marks each; 17th position by three students namely Deepa Hemam of Loktak Christian Model High School, Moirang, Preety Rajkumari of Catholic School, Canchipur and Thingom Shayaluxmi Devi of Wangkhei High School with 452 marks; 18th position by three students namely Punshiba Huirem of Brilliant Public School, Shamurou, Vishal Salam of Catholic School, Canchipur and Bonnie Wahengbam of Little Flower School with 451 marks; 19th position by four students namely Yengkhom Robindro Singh of Padma Ratna English School, Kakching, Devash Naorem of Peace And Freedom Academy, Sabaltongba, Radhakanta Irom of Catholic School, Canchipur and Yaisana Chingsubam of Tiny Tots' Unique School with 450 marks; 20th position by four students namely Longjam Loyanganba Singh of Royal Academy Of Advance Learning, Top Siphai, Katherine Yumnam of Wangkhei High School, Kelvin Moirangthem of St.

Joseph's School, Sangaiprou and Pushparani Nongthombam of Vale Academy, Ghari with 449 marks.

The 21st position is secured by Malemnganba Laishram of Tiny Tots' Unique School and Bamishwar Nameirakpam of St.

Joseph's School, Sangaiprou with 448 marks each; 22nd position by Supriya Devi R.K.of Nirmalabas School, Imphal with 447 marks; 23rd position by Loitongbam Sarda of Nirmalabas School and Inder Kumar Heisnam of Don Bosco High School, Imphal with 446 marks each; 24th position by Memthoi Kshetrimayum of Catholic School, Canchipur and Elangbam Diana Chanu of Standard Robarth Hr.
