Training programme held

Imphal, April 06 2011:
District Agriculture Officer, Senapati organised a training programme on crop production technology for Kangpokpi Block at Tumuyon Khullen today.
The programme was organised under the aegis of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Senapati.
Giving his keynote address, District Agriculture Officer M Gojendra said that such training programmes are being organised in all the eight blocks of district one after another.
Agriculture visits to different KVKs, Rice Research Station, CAU, and ICAR for the trainees were organised as a part of the training programme.
Saying that a district level crop competition would be organised M Gojendra said that Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10, 000 would be awarded to first, second and third prize winners respectively.
Speaking as a resource person in the training programme, Plant Health Clinic expert Kh Nimaichand spoke on SRI method.
KVK Thoubal Programme Coordinator Dr M Thoithoi spoke on IPM and INM.
A Brojen of KVK Henbung spoke on agro-forestry.
Later, PAC-407 and hybrid maize HQPM-1 seeds were distributed to the farmers.
