Imphal, August 03 2021: Demanding justice for the gang rape victim of May 9 last incident at Madhutilla, Assam, the World Meetei Convention (WMC) Assam unit team along with Sri Sri Radha Krishna Mandir Seva Samiti; Meetei-Nupi Mahila Bahumukhi Samabay Samittee; Manipuri Basti Meirapaibi Nari Sangstha; Rajbari Manipuri Students Union; Manipuri Sahitya Parishad-Assam, Rajbari branch and United Manipuri Association of Assam staged a protest at Manipuri Basti, Guwahati today, following Covid safety protocols A press release issued by WMC said that the victim of the 'heinous crime' is a young Manipuri (Meetei) widow and a mother of two.

Saying that the victim had lodged an FIR on the day of the incident itself at Ghungoor police station, the WMC informed that a committee (Justice Demand Committee) has been formed to deliver justice to the victim.

The WMC then urged the Government of Assamto provide a job to the victim so that she can earn her livelihood with dignity.
