RNYOM demands payment of land compensation

Imphal, December 27 2021: Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation (RNYOM) has condemned the non-payment of land compensation in connection with the construction of Northeast Frontier Railway Safety Tunnel-12 at Khongsang (Sangrung) village amounting to Rs 5,91,90,062 which was deposited with Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong vide RTGS on November 23, 2020 .

In a release, RNYOM stated that the construction work had been stopped for the last one year due to problems arising out of alleged discrimination against the land owners.

It urged the Government and District Administration to release the said funds which had been deposited by Northeast Frontier Railway and the long pending compensation of the National Highway double/four land.

Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation further urged the Government to pay the said compensations within seven days failing which the organization would be compelled to carry out different democratic forms of agitation in the interest of the people including a bandh on NH-37 .
