Rashtriya Poshan Maah: MSCW conducts awareness programme

The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, organized a one-day awareness programme today at K Koshang Memorial Community Hall, Khangshim Village, Tengnoupal District.
The event was held in celebration of the seventh Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024 under the national initiative "Poshan Abhiyaan" .
On the occasion, Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, Chairperson, MSCW, highlighted the significance of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, a campaign launched in 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chairperson Monsang emphasized the need for individuals to understand and adopt nutritional knowledge in their daily lives.
The programme featured two technical sessions led by prominent resource persons.
Dr Changmei S Ningshen, Nutrition Consultant, presented a detailed discussion on "Decoding Nutritional Information and Front-of-Pack Labels (FOPL) in India" and while Joybi Heikrujam, Senior Physiotherapist from RIMS Imphal, addressed the pressing issue of "Anemia." The awareness programme reinforced the critical role of nutrition in the overall health and well-being of the community, particularly for women and children, in line with the objectives of Poshan Abhiyaan.
Distinguished guests at the event included Lourembam Dayabati, Member, MSCW; T Chuongsin Koireng, Member, MSCW along with Shangnaidar Tontang, secretary, WSDC and other notable dignitaries.
