Imphal, May 27 2022: Felicitation of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Awardee, 2021-2022 and prize distribution function for National Girl Child Day, 2022 was held at Manipur State Bal Bhavan today organized by the Department of Social Welfare.

The felicitation function was graced by Social Welfare Minister, Heikham Dingo Singh, Joint Director ICDS, Bantee Konthoujam MCS and Social Welfare Joint Director, Jitesor Keisham as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, H Dingo Singh congratulated the two Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Awardees, 2021-2022 namely Venish Keisham and Daulas Lambamayum (Art & Culture) .

He said that the Social Welfare Department has been working on various schemes for all round development of the society and stressed on the need of giving proper guidance to children by teachers and parents to nurture their talents.

He also urged the parents and teachers to support and advise students in their learning for a peaceful and progressive society.

Later the Minister also declared the opening of five days 'Model Marketing Workshop' which will be conducted till May 31 .

During the function, certificates and prizes were awarded to the position holders of online slogan and photography competitions held in connection with the observance of National Girl Child Day, 2022 .

It is worth mentioning that 29 children have been chosen for this year's Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar and they were awarded in the six fields of innovation, scholastic achievements, sports, arts and culture, social service and bravery.

Each awardee was given a medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 .
