Kpi/Thb/Bpr/Spi/Chd, June 21 2022: In a show of great enthusiasm and zeal, various State and private organisations/groups/others came together to celebrate the 8th International Day of Yoga (IYD) 2022 across several districts of the State.

THOUBAL
Along with the rest of the world, IYD 2022 was observed in different Health and Wellness Centres of Thoubal district.

Under the aegis of the District Administration Thoubal, the District Health Society, Thoubal observed the 8th IYD 2022 in 9 Health and Wellness Centres of Thoubal district at Tekcham, Tentha, Ukhongang, Thoubal Khunou, Haokha, Waithou, Irong Khunou, Haoreibi Mayai Leikai and Athokpam village.

Similar programmes were also held at HWC Athokpam, Thoubal Khunou and Waithou.

Separately, Bharat Swabhiman (Trust), Patanjali Yog Samiti, Mahila Patanjali Yog Samiti, Yuva Bharat and Patanjali Kisan Seva Samiti Thoubal district collectively organised the IYD 2022 celebration at Yairipok Khoirom Kangjeibung Multipurpose Community Hall today.

During the event, Konjengbam Hemanta, Yoga instructor of Patanjali Yog Samiti performed many Yoga asanas and informed the gathering about the benefits of Yoga.

BJP Heirok Mandal also followed suit and organised the 8th IYD 2022 celebration at Heirok Part III community hall today.

Heirok MLA Dr Thokchom Radheshyam spoke on the occasion and gave a speech about the positive impacts of practicing yoga on one's mental and physical well-being.

The MLA also took this opportunity to urge the people to support the central government's Agnipath scheme.

A Yoga session was also organised at KM Blooming Higher Secondary School to celebrate IYD 2022.Around 30 persons consisting of students and school staff participated in the yoga session.

KANGPOKPI
Field Office, Senapati organised a one day Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme (ICOP) on International Day of Yoga under the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting at Kanglatongbi community hall, Kangpokpi district today under the theme the theme "Yoga for Humanity" .

It was attended by Achou Khwairakpam, National Judge, All India Yoga Cultural Federation an L Joyprakash, Yoga instructor as resource person and demonstrator respectively.

Staff of Field Office, Senapati and the people of Kanglatongbi participated actively during the Yoga demonstration.

Later, a yoga awareness rally was also organized from Kanglatongbi community hall to Kanglatongbi market.

T-shirts were also distributed to the people gathered on the occasion.

BISHNUPUR
LDA Chairman Moirangthem Asnikumar Singh led the IYD 2022 celebration at Champu Khangpok Floating Village in Loktak Lake today at 5:30 am.

He was joined by Project Director L Bhagaton Singh, LDA project planning in-charge Ng Sanajaoba, LDA staff, and community members of Champu Khangpok Floating Village.

Speaking on the occasion after joining the community in a Yoga demonstration, Moirangthem Asnikumar stressed on the need for Yoga in our daily lives and added that it is great for both the body and the mind as it offers peace and mindfulness.

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing a platform for people to come together and celebrate Yoga.

The celebration also included the distribution of traditional hats - Yempak, to the community.

Separately, BL Verma, Minister of State, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region led in conducting a mass yoga demonstartion at Loktak Inland Waterways Complex today.

It may be noted that the mass yoga demonstration was organised by Manipur University under the supervision of Ministry of Education with the theme "Yoga for Unity" .

Around 500 individuals participated in the day's yoga demonstration.

Dignitaries present at the event include MLA T Robindro, N Lokendra, MU VC, teaching staff of MU, MU students and various Government officials among others.

SENAPATI
Senapati district observed the IYD 2022 today at Multipurpose Hall opposite Mini Secretatiat Complex, Senapati which was jointly organised by District Administration, Senapati and NYK, Senapati.

During the programme, four well trained Yoga practioner from Pantanjali led and demonstrated various yoga postures.

Around 150 people consisting of DLO's, security personnel from Police and CRPF, NYK volunteers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and students participated in today's programme.

IYD 2022 was also observed in various institutions such as District Hospitals and Don Bosco College, Maram.

CHANDEL
Chandel District joined the nation in celebrating the 8th IYD 2022 today by observing it across different parts of the district.

The main celebration was organised by the District Administration, Chandel at Women Market, Japhou Bazar, Chandel under the theme "Yoga for Humanity" .

Today's celebration at Japhou bazaar was conducted by MO Ayush Dr Rajkumar and Yoga therapist Sanayaima Mayanglambam of Komlahabi PHC.

International Yoga day was also celebrated at District Hospital Chandel and UCC College.

Separately, Central Bureau of Communication, Field Office Chandel, Imphal region also organised Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOPs) on International Day of Yoga 2022 at Japhou village in Chandel HQ and within its surrounding villages at Japhou Community Hall today.

Similarly, the District Legal Services Authority, Chandel also organised the celebration as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign at Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Complex, Chandel.

It is worth noting that many battalions of Assam Rifles also celebrated the 8th IYD 2022 including the Loktak Battalion, Mantripukhri Battalion, Sajik Tampak Battalion, Keithelmanbi Battalion, Keithelmanbi Battalion, Phundrei Battalion as well as 44 Assam Rifles, Headquarters 26 Sector, Headquarters 10 Sector and Headquarters 28 Sector of Assam Rifles.

Besides this, Subsidiary Training Centre, Border Security Force (BSF), Churachandpur and BSF Koirengei also observed the important day at Satish Parade Ground and Koirengei campus respectively.

Meanwhile 113 Battalion BSF celebrated International Day of Yoga at its Tactical Ground Loktak and all 01 CI Posts located in different districts of Manipur.

Moreh Police, Jiribam District Police, Thoubal District Police and Kakching District police also joined in observing IYD 2022 .

Further, 69 Battalion of CRPF and 32 Battalion CRPF conducted various events in observance of IYD 2022 .

Lastly, 165 Infantry Battalion TA (H&H) Assam in association with Malom Muni Urak Yoga Centre, Malom organised a yoga session on the theme "Yoga for Humanity" to celebrate IYD 2022 .
