Imphal, May 30 2012:
Manipur has become a trouble torn state with daily reports of unwanted happenings crippling any development programmes in the state.
So, in order to transform Manipur into a much better place, a whole lot of things need to be changed, exclaimed Home Minister Gaikhangam.
He was speaking at a felicitation function hosted by Keishamthong Kabui Thoubei in honour of him as well as MLA Janghemlung Panmei, MLA Z Kinkhonbou Newmai and MLA RK Imo at Keishamthong Kabui Community Hall here today.
Home Minister Gaikhangam maintained that the present situation in the state has been brought about by self acclaimed social workers and certain government officials and individuals who are self-centred and forgotten their actual role in the society.
The number of such individuals in the state has increased manifold.
As such, the future of Manipur remains bleak.

He, however, observed that though a small state, Manipur has huge potentials.
But unfortunately these potentials have never been able to expose to the whole world.
The Minister also appealed to all the ethnic communities settling in the state to come together and work for promotion of the whole state rather than trying to promote their own communities.
One community should not try to promote their culture and tradition at the cost of other communities.
The Chief of Keishamthong Kabui Khul and other village leaders submitted memorandums to the Home Minister Gaikhangam and MLA of Sagolband A/C RK Imo on the occasion.
