Social Welfare Minister N Loken today appealed the agitating students' organisations, which spearheaded the class boycott stir in protest against the Khwiramband incident of July 23, to allow the students resume normal classes.
Minister N Loken was speaking as the chief guest on the observance of Children's Day cum the 20th anniversary of the state Bal Bhavan at Bal Bhavan complex located at Khuman Lampak under the aegis of Social Welfare department today.
N Loken said, children of the state are born with some quality in them.
These children have the potential to represent the state and have the ability to achieve something for the state.
He also noted that the Bal Bhavan of the state has achieved the highest number of Bal Shree awards among the Bal Bhavans in the entire India.
Appealing the three students' bodies and the Apunba Lup to end the ongoing class boycott stir, N Loken also said that the students' bodies would earn appreciation from all quarters if the class boycott stir is called off.
He said, all concerned must stand against the arson attack on educational institutions while also urging to provide amiable study atmosphere to students.
Stating that the Social Welfare department is a responsible department, the minister urged all concerned to stop causing disturbances to the working of the officials in executing their works.
He said the significant work of the department in distributing nutrition to children would be badly affected if the officials are disturbed including serving monetary demand to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of Social Welfare department, S Saratkumar said parents have great role to play in shaping the future of the children.
He also expressed his desire to locate the Bal Bhavan at a proper place.
The function was also attended by Commissioner of Social Welfare department, Letkhogin Haokip and Joint Secretary of the department, G Seityabati.
