Imphal, April 13 2013 :
The outlawed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has expressed its gratitude to all the people of Manipur, both in the hills and the plain, the old and young alike, as well as local clubs, social organizations, Bar Association, students and teachers of schools and colleges and employees of Government and private institutions for their participation and support towards ensuring success of observing Athoubasinggi Numit (April 13) like every year.
On the occasion, many people from different walks of life turned up to join in offering floral tributes to the patriots of Manipur who laid down their lives for the sake of Manipur,RPF said in a statement issued by its Secretary Publicity Roben Khuman.
The outfit has also extended its thankfulness to the transporters, police personnel, traffic police, Doctors and Nurses for their cooperation on the occasion.
However, RPF has decried the restrictions imposed by police on school students from offering floral tributes to the patriots at their memorial.
Pointing out that offering tribute to the departed souls is permissible under the Law, RPF has appealed to the Manipur Police Personnel to stop such restrictions in future.
