Consumers' Club appeals

The Consumers' Club, Manipur, in view of the coming Ningol Chakkouba festival has urged shopkeepers and vendors to sell goods following all norms and respecting consumers' rights.
Wishing Ningols (women) on the occasion, the Consumers' Club said people should be extra cautious and check all the labels on packaged products and others when buying.
When buying packaged items, they should see the labels and check for the expiry, manufacture, date of packaging.
People should also check the pace of origin, place where the product was manufactured and quantity specified.
Customers should also see if the shopkeepers and vendors are using weights approved by the Weight and Measurement Department.
The weights used should have the validity displayed on its surface with seal.
In case, any customer has complaints, he or she should call the Consumers' Club, Manipur Paona Bazar office number - 7629933367, it said.
The Consumers' Club also appealed the Fisheries Department and Weight and Measurement Department to conduct field visits at markets.
It urged the Departments to properly monitor the Annual Fish Fair-cum-Fish Crop Competition 2020 .
It also appealed shopkeepers and vendors not to occupy footpaths and cause congestions and advised people to follow COVID-19 SOPs and avoid crowding at marketplace.
