Induction programme at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has conducted an orientation cum induction programme of the fresh students in Medical, Dental and Nursing at its Administrative block here today.
According to a press release of RIMS, there were 49 MBBS, 16 each of Dental and Nursing students in the function.
Its Director Prof S Sekharjit exhorted the freshers to work hard and maintain discipline, reminding that ragging is prohibited in RIMS and perpetrators face drastic disciplinary actions.
He also advised them to approach the administration to get their grievances looked into.
Prof N Damayanti, Head of Dept Anatomy and Chairman Hostel Development Committee said, since academic calendar is to be maintained following the condensation of 1st MBBS course to just one year from 18 months, the classes in Anatomy were started from today.
The administrators are doing their best to provide hostel accomodation for the increased number of students at post graduate level, the release added.
It also stated, Prof RR Singh, Principal in-charge Dental College and Prof Jamuna, Principal College of Nursing also spoke at the function.
