VPC, Zillai felicitate meritorious students

Kangpokpi, July 30 2022: Altogether 58 meritorious Vaiphei students of Kangpokpi block, who passed the HSLC and HSE 2022 exams, were honoured during a felicitation cum thanksgiving and career guidance programme held at S Molnom village in Kangpokpi district on Saturday.

The programme was jointly organised by Vaiphei People's Council (VPC), Kangpokpi block and Zillai Kangpokpi block.

The event, according to the organising committee, was organised to give the right career guidance at the time which was crucial for students to making a life-changing decision.

Haothang, chairman VPC Kangpokpi block, delivered a keynote address, which was followed by distribution of certificates to the meritorious students.

Dr Hoilenting Vaiphei, specialist (fisheries) KVK Hengbung, LG Neishel, proprietor Accelerate Coaching Centre Kangpokpi, and Tracy Kimbawi, probationary officer SBI Kangpokpi Branch, attended the event as resource persons while Helien Vaiphei, chief of S Molnom village, and Colonel Seiminlen Vaiphei were host and special guest respectively.

Pastor Seimang, SMBC, and other church prayed for the meritorious students.

Speaking to media persons, VPC Kangpokpi block vice chairman Haopu Vaiphei, pointed out that effective career counselling and guidance has become the need of the hour as students are getting confused with various career choices these days.

The programme was organised to help them choose future careers, he added.
