Program Manager refutes Tamenglong NHRM report

Imphal, August 29: Reacting to the news report on implementation of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Tamenglong district published in this paper on its August 28 edition as baseless, District Programme Manager of District Health Mission Society, Tamenglong Lungthailiu Kamei has clarified that there is no provision for wages or honorarium for the Village Level Link Workers nor united fund for ASHAs expect for performance incentive.

Detail of account and style of functioning may be checked and confirmed from the office of the District Programme Management Unit, DPMU, Tamenglong anytime during working hours, Lungthailiu Kamei said in a statement, while pointing out that such news reports should be avoided from publication without proper verification in future as it may mislead the public and discourage the health workers.
