Union against service extension of LDA Project Director

The Loktak Development Authority Workers and Employees Union has appealed against service extension of L Bhagaton Project Director, Loktak Development Authority, who has reportedly served for more than 10 years and 6 months in this capacity.
Speaking to media persons during a press briefing at LDA office in Ningthoukhong today, P Shyamkumar, general secretary, LDA Workers and Employees Union, accused the Project Director of failing to provide the workers with their due benefits during his 10 years in office.
Some of these benefits include medical reimbursement, leave engagement, gratuity, die-in harness etc.
Stating that the Government had extended his service period by six months previously, he also accused the concerned authorities of attempting to order another service extension of three months.
Urging the Government to refrain from extending the service period of an "incompetent" Project Director, the Union general secretary has further threatened to launch intense agitations otherwise.
