Jiribam hosts 'Half Marathon' as part of NMBA campaign

Jiribam, April 27 2025: As part of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) campaign in the district, the District Social Welfare Office, Jiribam under the aegis of District Administration Jiribam organised a Half Marathon Race at Jiribam today.

Altogether 150 runners including 34 women and 116 males participated in the marathon and was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, Krishna Kumar (IAS) from Irawat Statue complex, passed through Babupara, Dibong and later concluded at DC Complex.

The 1st position in women's category was bagged by Yurembam Lasmi Devi while Sinam Athoibi Chanu and Maibam Echan Chanu bagged the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In the men's category, Konjengbam Yaiphaba Meitei bagged the 1st position while M Shiraj Singh and A Chakritomba bagged the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

The winners of the marathon were later felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner with cash prizes and certificates.

The event was also attended by the District Level Officers (DLOs) of Jiribam district.
