MEELAL working president receives Rs 10 lakh demand

Imphal, January 27, 2011: KCP (MTF)-Sunil Meetei group has served a demand notice of Rs 10 lakh to Sathokpam Tomba Mangang, working president of Meetei Erol Eyek Loina Shillon (MEELAL).

Decrying the act of the group, volunteers of MEELAL staged a sit-in protest in front of its office at Season Market.

They staged the protest demanding return of the demand letter saying that they decried serving monetary demand to a person working for the revival of the Meetei Mayek scripts.

With regard to the monetary demand, MEELAL president, Naudalenkhomba said that they are strongly against demanding money from the underground struggling for the return of the independence of the Manipur to the a non-profit body working for the revival of once vanished Meetei Mayek scripts.

MEELAL had never think underground groups as against their campaign and challenge them directly or indirectly at any time.

The demand served to its working president might or might not relate with the MEELAL.

But considering the role taking part by Tomba in MEELAL's campaign, he appealed to the KCP (MTF) to withdraw the same and help in marching ahead the campaign.
