Campaign against drug abuse continues

As a part of the series of CADA's campaign, a discussion programme on the impact of drugs and alcohol in the society and the role of the people in limiting its impact was held at Kyamgei Youth Pioneer community hall today.
The campaign jointly organised by the Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA, Youth Pioneer Club and All Kyamgei Nupi Chaokhat Thourang Lup was attended by Laishram Roben, general secretary Kyamgei Youth Pioneer Club; Akhongbam Ibeyaima, general secretary, All Kyamgei Nupi Chaokhat Lup and Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA as presidium members.
Speaking as resource person, CADA general secretary, Geetchandra Mangang said all the intending candidates will produced their own groups of 'Meira Paibis' but these Vote related Meira Paibis will not work to root out alcohol and drugs nor will they try to prevent youths from indulging in drugs and alcohol.
Hijam Priyokumar said almost every family in the State consumes betel nuts, as such the amount of money being drained out of the state is in crore.
Adding that consuming tobacco related products are harmful to the body and the huge financial strain it imposed, people should refrain from consuming such items.
