Imphal, July 23 2018: The National Students' Union of India, Manipur State has condemned the Union HRD Ministry and the Govt of Manipur in the strongest terms for the complete negligence towards the 50 days long issue of Manipur University.

In a statement the student body said that VC Adya Prasad Pandey must resign at the earliest and added that it supports the movement led by MUSU, MUTA and MUSA.

Demanding answers to some pertinent questions from the State and Central Governments, NSUI, Manipur said that AP Pandey is ruining the career of thousands of students of Manipur with his failed administration and working as a representative of the BJP Government.

His irregularities and a series of allegations against him are facts, alleged NSUI and added that if he is a true academician, he should have resigned long back.

But as he is completely understand the care and protection of BJP, he is still roaming freely while the University is crippled for two months.

Not only is the University paralyzed, but AP Pandey has also ruined the career of all the students who have already completed their 5th and 6th semester exams by keeping the exam results undeclared.

Such a statement will inconvenience the students who seek higher studies both outside and inside the State.

Why the Manipur State BJP Govt is so timid in solving the issue, questioned NSUI and wondered what makes them so timid to highlight the voice of thousands of students to the Centre especially when it is their own party which is in power at the Centre.

Why VC Pandey is kept in a safe zone while a large number of students are beaten up mercilessly just for demanding what is their right, questioned NSUI and added that the State Government is trying to bluff its way by coming up with some excuses such as Manipur University is a Central University, so it's not in their hand to solve the issue.

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar visits Manipur frequently and several times at the time of elections, but why is he now playing deaf and dumb, asked NSUI and added that the Union Minister has not uttered even a single word on the issue till date though MU has been paralysed for the last 50 days.

There is a significant downfall in Manipur University and this is proved from the recent report of university ranking of India where Manipur University was not included even in the top 100.What is the real contributions of VC AP Pandey, it asked.
