Students of Ukhrul Higher Secondary School excel in Ukhrul district

Ukhrul, May 21 2024: The Ukhrul Higher Secondary School (UHSS), a Government school displayed an outstanding performance in the Higher Secondary Examination 2024 conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur(COHSEM) .

Notably, the school recorded the highest pass percentage among all other schools in Ukhrul district.

Lauding the sincere and dedicated efforts of the students and teachers, UHSS held a felicitation ceremony of the top five students in the school today.

The student of the school Ningpen Huileng is the topper of the district in Science stream securing 92 percent.

According to the school reports, altogether 234 students appeared in the Higher secondary examination in three streams namely Science, Arts and Commerce.

The school achieved a pass percentage of 87.05 percent in Science stream, 53.08 in Arts stream while 66.66 percent in Commerce stream.

During the programme, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul Kengoo Zuringla distributed certificates and citations to the five students who were felicitated for their performances and as a mark of appreciation for their high marks in the Higher Secondary Examination 2024.Speaking at the occasion, she encouraged the students to work hard and put in their best efforts so as to achieve exemplary results and be role models to the other young students.

Principal of UHSS Josiah Suirang in his welcome speech expressed that the performance of the school has created a new bench mark for Government institutions in Ukhrul, and asserted that the school will continue to strive for a better education system in the district.

He maintained that the school's performance will help a great deal in changing the mindset and apprehensions about the quality of education in Government schools.

He highlighted that the school is moving to the path of success due to the concerted efforts of the students and teachers.

The Principal went on to state many students of the school have scored star marks in different subjects.

Meanwhile, Ningpen Huileng the Ukhrul district topper expressed gratitude to the Principal and teaching faculties of the school for their untiring support leading the students to the path of success.
