Chandel, December 20 2024: Under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority and National Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority, Chandel in collaboration with Chandel Network of Positive People (CNP+) organised a Legal Awareness Programme on "Issues of Drug Abuse & Its Impact in the Society" today at Mahamani village community hall, Chandel.

The programme was presided by Fakhrul Islam Choudhary, MJS, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Moreh and Dr Chindiehniang, District Aids Control Officer, (DACO) Chandel as the resource person.

The programme was focused on sensitizing the issues of drug abuse and de-addiction schemes/policies in the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Fakhrul Islam Choudhary stressed on the provisions of availing Free Legal Aid Services under the Legal Services Institutions in the State.

He further highlighted the NALSA's schemes for Schedule tribes and Schedule caste.

On the other hand, Dr Chindiehniang stressed on the issues of drugs abuse and schemes for de-addiction in the State.

She further highlighted on various roles and initiative taken up by the Governmental and Non-Governmental organizations of the district in tackling the issues of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
