Film Academy Manipur celebrates 20th Foundation Day

Imphal, February 12 2025: Film Academy Manipur (FAM) celebrated its 20th Foundation Day at Rupmahal Theatre, Imphal on Wednesday.

The event was graced by Joymala Yumnam, wife of former Minister Y Khemchand; Rupmahal Theatre vice chairman, Loitongbam Brajamohon Singh; film producer & director Rakesh Naorem and FAM president, L Brojendro Singh as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, L Brojendro said that since its inception in 2004, the academy has been providing training on video production, acting, dance , etc to many young artists of the State.

He lamented that the academy has not been able to conduct classes properly for the last couple of years due to the Covid pandemic and ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur.

Stating that Manipur is best introduced to the world through its rich performing arts & culture and sports, Brojendro called for collective effort to safeguard and promote the indigenous culture and traditions of the State.

Felicitation of FAM members who participated in the cultural programmes recently held at Cuttack (Odisha), presentation of drama titled "Liklu" and releasing of the academy's annual calendar were the main highlights of the event.
