Pukhramabam Premchandra accorded warm reception

Kakching, August 10 2025: Pukhrambam Premchandra of Kakching Ningthou Leikai, who was recently honoured with the prestigious National Lalit Kala Akademi Award during the 64th National Exhibition of Art on August 5, 2025, received a warm reception today at his birthplace in Kakching.

Premchandra, the third child of Pukhrambam Indrajit and Pukhrambam Ongbi Tababi, holds a Pre-PhD in Fine Arts from Manipur University.

Over his career, Premchandra has earned 13 National awards and scholarships in the field of Fine Arts, including the recent National Lalit Kala Akademi Award.

His works have been showcased in 6 Group exhibitions in the National and State-Level and 13 specially curated exhibitions.

The reception ceremony held today at Central Public Hall Kakching was organised by the All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Committee.

Dignitaries present included Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, Rohit Anand; All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Commmittee, president Ksh Dharamdas; Kakching Municipal Council Ward no 8, caretaker councillor M Inakhunbi; social worker Ksh Kennedy along with elders of the locality as presidium members.

In his address, DC Rohit Anand praised Premchandra's achievement, stating that his achievement is not only a pride for the Kakching, but also for the whole community of Manipur.

He extended his best wishes for more success in his future endeavours.

Meanwhile, the Pukhrambam Sagei Thousil Committee, Kakching Khullen has also extended congratulations to Pukhrambam Premchandra on being conferred the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi Award for his excellent performance at the 64 National Exhibition of Art.
