PAWF celebrates 33rd Manipuri Language Day at Tripura

Narayan Khamar ApunbaLup, Tripura and Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Tripura and Manipur j ointly celebrated the 33rd Manipuri Language Day at Narayan Khamar yesterday.
Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF) Manipur president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Tripura president Langoljam Biramangal and social activist Ksh Joukishore attended the observance as presidium members.
The event saw the organisers honouring Nata Sankritan artistes, Gurumayum Nitai Sharma, L Boroda Kanta Singha and cultural activist Ksh Brajendra Singha with appreciation certificates.
Five meritorious students from the Meitei community in Tripura were also feted and encouraged at the event.
As a part of the event, a National poets' meet was organised in the presence of Khoisnam ongbi Birola, Member of Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
Dr S Ibungochouba, Jamuna Lairenjam, Chaoba Heikham, Langoljam Mina and Ksh Madhabi and other writers took part in the poets' meet Many cultural programmes including Thang-Ta, Thougal Jagoi, patriotic songs were performed in the event.
Social activist Dr Yengkhom Bhagyachandra, Dr Kiran Yendrembam, Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur secretary Rakesh Naorem and founder secretary OC Meira too attended the event.
