As part of the continuous efforts and contribution towards combating the pandemic COVID-19, Kangpokpi District Police in collaboration with Fire Sub Station Kangpokpi and Kangpokpi Town Committee sanitized Nute Kailhang and distributed face masks to the public within the town.
The sanitization and distribution of face masks program was the initiative of Inspector Maibam Khogen, Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station who had earlier set an exemplary public service since the initial stage of the pandemic COVID-19 in the town.
Police personnel and fire personnel led by OC Khogen along with the member of Kangpokpi Town Committee led by its chairman Lunseh Kipgen cleaned the vicinity of Nute Kailhang from 6 am apart from sanitizing the area with hypochlorite.
Later, the District police led by Inspector Khogen distributed face masks to the general public and shoppers at Nute Kailhang, downtown IT Road and Kangpokpi Bazar along the National Highway.
Speaking to media persons, Inspector Khogen said that the pandemic COVID-19 is not over yet and the public must maintain the SOPs strictly to prevent the spread of the virus in the town.
Kangpokpi Town Committee chairman, Lunseh Kipgen expressed gratitude to the district police and fire personnel especially the Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station Inspector Khogen for the initiative and appeal the general public to maintain COVID SOPs.
