DFP organizes workshop on PMJDY, Swachh Bharat and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao

Imphal, December 09 2014:
The Directorate of Field Publicity , (DFP), Nagaland & Manipur Region today organized a regional Workshop for field officers of Nagaland and Manipur in connection with the upcoming Special Outreach Programme (SOP) at the Field Publicity office, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in Imphal.
The day-long workshop dwelled on the flagship programme on Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
In his introductory speech, Dr.Engam Pame, Director DFP (N&M) region highlighted various aspects of the flagship programme.
He impressed upon the gathering on the need to bring about changes in our mindset on cleanliness.
Dr.Pame said "we should sensitize our self first to bring about changes in others." He said "only when we develop a desire to clean within ourselves, we can develop an attitude on cleanliness and move ahead" .
He also expressed the hope that the publicity initiative will be impressive and impactful.
Dwelling on the importance of the flagship programme, the Director exhorted the officers that the public awareness campaign will make a lot of changes in people's lives and thereby bring about meaningful changes in society.
Mr M.Devakishore, Manager " Financial Inclusion" State Bank of deliberated on Pradhan mantri Jan Dan Yojana ; Mr.R.K.Somio, Consultant, Communication & Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) PHED spoke on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, while Ms.Binobala, Child Development Officer, Social Welfare Department sensitized the gathering on Beti bachao, Beti Padhao.
In the first session, Mr.Soni Kumar Singh , FPO, Chandel chaired the programme, while Mr.Vivek Khuraijam, FPO Imphal gave the welcome address.
Mr.Jitendra Pradhan , FPO Senapati chaired the second session.
Other highlights of the programmes included in-house discussion on SOP, Panel discussion on social Media for Government communication.
The Feedback and assessment on the workshop were reported by Mr.Mathew Bengam, FPO Churachandpur, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.Robin Kashungnao, FPO Ukhrul .
The eight units of Nagaland and Manipur would be undertaking publicity activities at 46 locations in the next three months.
