Kakching Post Office begins operation in new building

Kakching, September 27 2024: Kakching Post Office commenced operation at a brand new building located at Kakching Chumnang Leikai opposite Kakching Higher Secondary School today.

At the inaugural ceremony, Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO) members and office staff offered prayers for proper and smooth functioning of the Kakching Post Office, as per a press release issued by Ksh Chhatradhari, president, JNGVO.

Speaking in this connection, Yengkhom Rekha, Postal Assistant, said that in the past, Kakching Post Office rented office space in different buildings from time to time as it did not have a building of its own.

Stating that this caused many issues to the employees, she maintained that the staff did not even have any parking space.

She expressed happiness that a brand new building has been constructed to house Kakching Post Office with the concerted help of the public.

According to the press release, the building construction cost a total of Rs 1,63,96,456 (one crore sixty-three lakh ninety-six thousand and four hundred and fifty-six rupees).

JNGVO also played a significant role in acquiring the land for the building.
