Charhajare first fully vaccinated village in Saitu AC

Kangpokpi, July 23 2021: After an extensive vaccination drive under the initiative of local MLA Ngamthang Haokip, Charhajare has been declared as the first fully vaccinated village in Saitu assembly constituency on Friday.

According to a statement signed by SDO Saitu Gamphazol Dr N Johnson Meetei, Sr MO PHC Gamphazol Dr Jamlal Haokip and representatives of local MLA, Navin Gorkha Youth Club, Ngamthang Youth Team 51-Saitu (ST) AC, COVID Task Force Charhajare and BJP Saitu Mandal, extensive vaccination drive was held on July 20 and 21 after the previous vaccination drive at Bishnulal High School community hall under the supervision of Covid Awareness and Enforcement Committee 51-Saitu (ST) AC.

It also stated that the vaccination drive was conducted by a team of Saitu Gamphazol PHC led by Sr MO Dr Jamlal Haokip while adding that volunteers of Navin Gorkha Youth Club, Ngamthang Youth Team 51-Saitu AC and BJP Saitu Mandal also took active part in identification of villagers under Charhajare village.

Staff under SDO Saitu Gamphazol along with booth level officers, ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers participated in ensuring full vaccination of the villagers while adding that after completion of vaccination of all villagers included in the electoral roll, house to house visit to identify unvaccinated villagers was conducted by the volunteers of Navin Gorkha Youth Club on July 22 and the left-out villagers were vaccinated by the medical team, it added.

It further said that after thorough checking for any left-out villagers staying currently in Charhajare village, it was found that all the villagers who are eligible for vaccination as per current criteria have been fully vaccinated and Charhajare village has been declared as the first COVID-19 fully vaccinated village of 51-Saitu (ST) AC on July 22 .
