Protest staged against hit and run case

Locals staged a sit-in protest today at Singjamei Wangma Torban Kshetri Leikai Haobam Leirak demanding a probe in the hit and run case of Kshetrimayum Rajesh alias Naoba (34 yrs) and book the miscreants involved.
Kshetrimayum Rajesh is currently admitted at Shija Hospitals and is in a critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle on March 4, 2023 night at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai.
He was returning home in a two wheeler when another vehicle hit him and fled the spot without attending to the injured Rajesh.
Speaking in connection with the protest, RK Rani Devi of Singjamei Wangma Torban Kshetri Leikai Haobam Leirak Meira Paibi said that Naoba is undergoing treatment at Shija Hospitals due to serious injuries sustained after being hit by a vehicle.
She further stated that his condition is deteriorating and his family is finding it difficult to bear the expense of his treatment.
In view of the above difficulties, she appealed to all concerned to come forward and extend a helping hand in the treatment of the injured on humanitarian grounds.
Further she sought the attention of the Government and Police to nab the culprits involved in the incident at the earliest.
She also appealed to the clubs and organisations of the State to help in apprehending the culprits.
