MLA Kh Ibomcha surveys vulnerable paddyfields in red zone

Imphal, November 19 2024: Khongbantabam Ibomcha, MLA Lamlai Assembly Constituency, surveyed farming activities in paddyfields lying in the red zone areas of the constituency today.

Notably, security forces are currently guarding farmers as they harvest paddy at Sanashabi, Thamnapokpi, Sabungkhok Khunou, Shantikhongbal and Yaingangpokpi which lie in the foothill regions under Lamlai AC .

Speaking in this connection, Kh Ibomcha said that the forces have been providing security arrangement with the goal of completing the harvesting of paddy.

He added that in order to boost the security measures given to farmers, an additional company of BSF will be deployed.

Referring to the resolutions passed by ruling MLAs at yesterday night's meeting, the Lamlai AC MLA added that efforts are underway to put an end to frequent gun attacks launched by Kuki militants in these vulnerable red zones.

It may be noted that Kuki militants frequently launched gun and bomb attacks in the paddyfields here but with the security arrangement put into place, these offensives have stopped.
