Imphal, June 18 2021: Positivity rate once again crossed the 10 per cent on Friday as the government bulletins reported 603 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 5842 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, a 105-year-old woman from Imphal East district has become the oldest victim of Covid-19 as the virus claimed 12 more lives in the last 24 hours.

The youngest victim of the pandemic was an 18 months old baby, who died last month.

On the other hand, CCR bulletin informed that that IDSP, Manipur reported 18 cases of Delta variant of Covid-19 in the state.

Due epidemiological measures are already taken up and the report emphasised on the importance of adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour to prevent spread to others.

With the addition of 603 new cases and recoveries of 447 patients, the active caseload of the state has reached 9246 out of which 2831 patients are in home isolation and the remaining 6415 in healthcare facilities and CHICs.

As per report released on Friday, 679 patients are admitted in different healthcare facilities and 308 of them (include 30 post Covid patients) are on oxygen support and 34 on ventilator support.

The figure does not include data from JNIMS and I-land hospitals which have 148 and 10 patients respectively.

On the other hand, 947 patients are admitted in different in CCCs and 62 of them are on oxygen support.

Since the beginning of the current year, the state has recorded 34,758 positive cases and 678 fatalities.

The last seven days saw addition of 4178 new cases and 89 fatalities while 12,195 new cases and 226 fatalities have been reported in the current month.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 12 (6 male & 6 female) Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (7), Imphal East (2), Kakching (1), Bishnupur (1) and Churachandpur (1).Four each died at RIMS & JNIMS, two at Shija Hospital, and one each at Babina & DH Churachandpur.

The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1033 .

Four victims were below 60 years of age and four did not have any co-morbid conditions.

One patient died within 24 hours of arriving at hospital and three within 48 hours.

According to official reports, the 603 new cases included 600 people (301 male & 299 female) from among the general population and 3 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (40), JNIMS (57), District Hospitals (329) and other testing centres (177), The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (119), Imphal West (187), Thoubal (43), Bishnupur (44), Kakching (58), Ukhrul (27), Churachandpur (78), Chandel (11), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (17), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (2), Kamjong (1), Noney (2) and Jiribam (8).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Out of the 447 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, 324 were in home isolation, 13 from RIMS, 2 from JNIMS and 108 from other Covid care facilities.

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 62,946 (general population - 59,147 and CAPF personnel - 3,799) .

Number of recovered cases is 52,667 (general population - 48,906 and CAPF personnel - 3,761) and number of active cases is 9,246 (general population - 9,213 and CAPF personnel - 33).The recovery rate is 83.67 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1665 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 414 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

District Hospitals and government institutions have 465D and 106B filled cylinders while the district/sub-division wise stock position is Bishnupur (106D,0B), Chandel (30D,7B), Churachandpur (88D,0B), Senapati (49D,0B), Thoubal (58D,34B), Ukhrul (34D,15B), Tamenglong (24D,12B), Jiribam (36D,13B), Moreh (15D,1B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (10D,21B), Noney (2D,0B) and Pherzawl (6D,2B).As of Thursday, 4,85,122 individuals have been administered Covid-19 vaccine shots and the number include 81,920 persons who have got their second shot.

Meanwhile, 59 new positive cases were detected out of 257 samples tested in Kakching district on Friday.

One case was detected at Ema Hospital, seven at Jivan Hospital and 51 at government RAT Centre.

All are residents of Kakching district.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (22,258), Imphal East (14,283), Thoubal (5054), Churachandpur (4917), Kangpokpi (1589), Tamenglong (2039), Bishnupur (3715), Senapati (1352), Ukhrul (1334), Kakching (2925), Chandel (1082), Noney (549), Tengnoupal (617), Jiribam (701), Kamjong (429) and Pherzawl (102).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (385), Imphal East (271), Thoubal (96), Churachandpur (82), Kangpokpi (26), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (68), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (52), Chandel (14), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .

However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 20,286 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,408 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 2,72,894 tests per million population against the national average of 2,77,936 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.64 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 5842 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 10.32 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate stands at 7.43 per cent.
