Imphal, July 16 2024: A combined team of Kakching commando, Sugnu police and personnel of 37 Assam Rifles carried out a cordon and search operation at Moltingcham village and recovered arms and ammunition today morning .

Acting on specific inputs from 165 TA "Home and Hut" Thoubal, a combined team of Kakching commando, Sugnu police and personnel of 37 Assam Rifles under the supervision of Th Vikramjit, SP Kakching carried out a search operation at Moltingcham village, Kakching district under Sugnu police station, sources informed.

During the search operation, the combined team recovered one local made rifle, two Baofeng handsets, one Chinese hand grenade, one lethod shell, one pistol magazine, one grenade key, one 2 inch mortar wing, 14 empty cases of 9 mm ammunition, one misfired round of M-16, seven empty cases of INSAS rifle, four empty cases of AK rifle, seven empty cases of SLR rifle, five empty cases of .303 rifle, two numbers of .303 magazine charger base and two local made pompy launcher from a secluded area of Moltingcham village.

The recovered arms and ammunition were seized on the spot by observing necessary formalities and handed over to the Sugnu police station for necessary investigation and legal procedure, said the sources.
