Imphal, June 13 2024:
The Panchayat Administrative Committees (PACs) of five central valley districts have worked out a provision to reach out to the people of Jiribam who are taking refuge at different relief camps due to the atrocity of Kuki narco terrorists.
The resolution to go to Jiribam was taken during a meeting of PACs of Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching held at the office of Imphal West Zilla Parishad, today.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Chairperson of Imphal West Zilla Parishad Dr Laishram Bobby Devi said that they strongly condemn the killing of a Meetei civilian on the evening of June 6 in Jiribam and the burning of several houses belonging to Meeteis in the district which shares border with Assam.
Saying that they understand the plight of the people in Jiribam, she added that a delegate of PACs will go to Jiribam very soon and provide relief materials for the displaced folks.
