JAL rubbishes allegations of CoTU

Imphal, July 09 2024: The Jiri Apunba Lup (JAL) has vehemently opposed and condemned CoTU Sadar Hills and Kuki-Zo Village Volunteer Vangailhang and Tuilangkuol for making false allegations of State police and insurgents firing towards Phaitol village and burning down Kuki-Zo houses.

In a statement issued today, JAL said it was the armed Kuki-Zo militants that first set ablaze a Police Naka-post located at Leingangpokpi and then launched an attack on Manipur police and Fire Service using sophisticated weapons and bombs, and burnt some houses of Leingangpokpi and Gularthol villages at around 3.10 am of July 8, 2024 .

In response to their attack, security forces retaliated to control the situation and arrsted two miscreants.

On the same day (July 8), one farmhouse of A Somorendra Singh located at Lalpani was also set on fire by Kuki-Zo armed militants.

The arrest of two Kuki-Zo militants along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition by the Assam Rifles is clear evidence of their lies, said JAL.
