Imphal, February 01:
To ascertain whether there is any new case of avian influenza in the State, the State Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department has sent a doctor to the High Security Animal Disease Laboratory at Bhopal with samples collected from the carcasses of wild birds today.
The carcasses were found in Maharabi village of Imphal West district.
Veterinary officer T Dorendrajit left for Bhopal along with tissue and blood samples of the dead Khoining (Bulbul) and Ushek Meishangbi (a Magpie species) today.
Results of the laboratory tests are expected after three/four days, informed a Veterinary officer.
