Rich tributes paid to former CM Jaichandra

Former Chief Minister of Manipur and former Union Minister (L) RK Jaichandra Singh was an estimable and charismatic leader, stated CM O Ibobi.
O Ibobi was speaking as the chief guest of the 75th birth anniversary observance of (L) RK Jaichandra Singh organised by RK Jaichandra Singh Memorial Trust today at Sagolband Bijoygovinda ground.
The Chief Minister said that the late leader RK Jai-chandra was a man of his word, a visionary leader who had accomplished great tasks for the development of the State.
His demise had created a void which is hard to fill.
He said that his Government is committed to fulfil the aspirations and visions of the departed leader.
The CM further sought cooperation of the public so that the State strides ahead on the path of development.

Attending the function as the president, Dy CM Gaikhangam said that the late leader was a principled person and a great statesman who made efforts to bring equal development in the hills and valley without any differentiation.
The untimely demise of Jaichandra was a great and irreparable loss not only to the State but to the country as well, he said.
Gaikhangam said that there will be overall development in the State had all concerned known the visions of the late leader.
MLA of Sagolband AC, RK Imo promised to provide financial assistance to 200 senior citizens and 100 widows of the constituency from his monthly salary.
Under the leadership of the CM, project to fit 79 street lamps from Sagolband to Oriental College has been initiated, RK Imo said.
The MLA also conveyed his wish to name the multipurpose hall constructed at SAI Complex, Takyel after the former CM RK Jaichandra, who took pro-active role in the setting up of the institute.
A documentary video based on the life of (L) RK Jaichandra was also released at the occasion.
Offering of floral tribute at the portrait of the former CM and former Union Minister and cultural items presentation were the other highlights of the programme.
Ministers, MPs, MLAs, officials of Bar Association attended the programme.
