Effigies of Prime Minister, Manmohon Singh and UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi along with that of state chief minister were set on fire various places apart from staging sit-in protest showing solidarity to the Apunba Lup demand for resignation of chief minister, O Ibobi continued at different part of the state.
Women volunteers of the Kanglei Chanura Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup today burnt down the effigies of the country�s Prime Minister, Dr Manmohon Singh and Congress Supremo, Sonia Gandhi today.
Burning of effigies of chief minister, O Ibobi along with that of Prime Minister and Congress Supremo were also reported at Langdum Shoibung Market by the volunteers of Langdum Women Welfare Association, at Bamon Kampu by the members of the Bamon Kampu Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.
Sit-in protest was also staged by the students of Tiny Tots English School, Deulahland, Sacred Heart English School, Lamlong Bazar, Sacred Heart English School, Porompat, Bal Bidya Mandir, Porompat and Brighter Acdemy, New Chekon at their respective school premises.
The same protest was also carried out at Huikap, organized by the Huikap Women Welfare Association, Uchol by the Uchol Meira Paibi Lup, Kaina Lamkhai (Thambalnu Market) by the Poiroukhongjin Meira Paibi, Young Star Dynamic English School, Angtha, at Andro Bazar by the All Andro Meira Paibi Association, at Ngariyan by the Ngariyan Muslim Meira Paibi and at Nongada Kameng , organized by the Nongada Kameng Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.
At the concluding part of the protest at Huikap and Uchol, protestors burnt down effigies of the CM and also shouted slogans demanding punishment to the police commandos involved in July 23 shooting incident after a rally was held.
