Draw of lots decides posting

As a part of N Biren led State Govt's measures to usher in corruption free governance, the State Revenue Dept has allotted postings to 48 newly recruited SDCs through draw of lots .
The draw of lots for the SDCs of Revenue Department was conducted today at the Old Secretariat Conference hall in the presence and under the supervision of Revenue Minister Karam Shyam .
Commissioner of Revenue Th Chitaranjan, Special Secretary (Revenue) M Joy and SDCs recommended by the MPSC were also present .
The draw of lots was conducted in such a way that SDCs were asked to pick a piece of paper� wherein the names of the vacant posts were written�from a box.
The places/posts where the SDCs picked from the box were announced by the Revenue Commissioner.
The box was placed in between the Minister and the Commissioner .
Media persons witnessed the lottery right from the beginning till the end .
12 women officers were however given the chance to pick vacant posts in the valley district and some vacant posts in Kangpokpi district .
Five women SDCs were also given the chance for home posting in respect of Churachandpur, Kamjong and Senapati districts .
Speaking to media persons, Revenue Minister Karam Shyam said that the posting of SDCs through lottery was done in a transparent manner as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Biren's measures to usher in corruption free governance.
He said that some Ministers and MLAs had approached him with an offer of Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh persuading him to post some SDCs at some 'better places.'
The fight against corruption would be futile if the elected representatives and bureaucrats do not extend cooperation .
He also urged the newly appointed SDCs to execute their works sincerely at their posting places.
He also told them not to be a part of the larger system where files are detained until someone gives them bribes.
