Imphal, May 30 2021: A late report said Raj Medicity has retracted its stand and has served a new bill based on the Government fixed charges to the patient's family.

The earlier bill amounting to over Rs 2.71 lakh was scrapped and instead the hospital issued a revised bill amounting to Rs 1.10 lakh, said the grandson of the deceased while speaking to The Sangai Express.

The patient family has paid the amount and taken the body of the grandmother for the last rites.

Imphal Municipal Corporation cremated the body.

It may be noted that following the news of the hospital charging exorbitant amount from the family, Manipuri Students Federation (MSF), organisation secretary, Sunder Mangang on social media sites had called out the Raj Medicity authority and appealed to the Government to intervene and take strict action against the hospital.
