Imphal, August 29: The Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur district has refuted the report which appeared in the August 28 issue of this paper under the caption, 'RTI : Case filed against Bpr DC.' A statement issued by the AC to the DC today said that H Nungshitombi, a member of the Ngangkha Lawai Gram Panchayat had come to the DC office to submit an application said to be under Section 6 (1) of RTI Act.

When she tried to hand over the application at the receipt counter, she was requested to go to the DRDA office building where a separate receipt/issue section is opened since the application concerned the IAY Housing Schemes.

There is no question of the staff telling her that the DC had instructed them not to accept the application.
