Immunization drive held

As part of the observation of World Immunization Week 2025, the Directorate of Family Welfare Services Manipur, State Health Society and NHM Manipur jointly organised an immunization drive at Directorate of Family Welfare Services campus in Imphal today.
Speaking at the event, Dr Ksh Memcha Devi, State Immunization Officer, said that World Immunization Week is celebrated in the last week of April every year to highlight the collective action needed and promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease.
She asserted that the goal of World Immunization Week is for more people to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases and the theme this year is "Immunization for all is humanly possible".
Highlighting that the Government of India has set a target of eliminating measles and rubella by 2026, she shared that the immunization drive is also focused on these diseases.
Furthermore, Dr Ksh Memcha Devi asserted that children of the age group 9 to 12 months and one and a half years old were immunized during the drive.
