The nine day science motivation programme organised by the Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) with the support of NCSTC, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi since April 17 concluded today at State Youth Centre, Khuman Lampak.
The closing function of the programme was attended by MANIREDA Chairman PL Thanga as chief guest and Commissioner (ST & IT) S Budhachandra as functional president, conveyed a MASTEC release.
During the course of the programme, the participating students numbering 40 from eight selected schools visited different laboratories such as Soil, Horticulture, Animal Sciences, Tissue culture labs of the Central Agricultural University.
They also interacted with the agricultural scientists woeking in the laboratories.
The students also visited laboratories of the Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) as well as the Seismic Observatory at Canchipur.
This was followed by another visit to the advanced laboratories of Remote Sensing and GIS of the Earth Sciences Department, Manipur University.
Popular science talks on various topics were also delivered by experts.
A science elocution was competition organised during the programme.
The competition was won by the pair of Ch Chingkheinganba and K Norendro of the Antartic English School, Yairipok.
