Thoubal, October 20 2024:
The Educational Guide Centre (EGC), Thoubal Moijing has urged the Government and the Department of Education to appoint a Headmaster in-charge of the Moijing High School and send required teachers.
Addressing a press meet held at the office of the EGC at Thoubal Moijing today, its president MM Abdur Razaque said that the Moijing High School has been without a Headmaster in-charge for the last 3 months, and this has adversely affected the academic atmosphere.
The State Government may be facing many issues at present, but it shouldn't allow the issues to affect school education.
The school should have a headmaster in-charge for it to run smoothly in the interest of the students and the community, he said.
When the school is already facing a shortage of teachers, four of its teachers have been promoted and transferred to other schools.
This has gravely affected the school and the students, he added.
There aren't enough teachers to conduct classes as usual.
The students, particularly those in Class X have been affected.
The authorities concerned should immediately appoint a Headmaster in-charge and send adequate teachers to the school to save the students' career, said Razaque.
Further, the school has no School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) which has affected the overall functioning.
The authorities concerned should form a committee at the earliest, he added.
A joint meeting of the EGC, members of the community, parents, guardians of students, political and social leaders discussed the issues the school is facing, and the meeting has resolved to put pressure on the authorities concerned to address the issues, Razaque informed.
