Students' induction and counselling programme organised at Tamenglong College

Tamenglong College organised a "Students' Induction and Counselling Programme" under the theme "Igniting Your Dreams" at the Multipurpose Hall of the College on August 17 .
The event was graced by Dr Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal, as the functional president and keynote speaker along with Namsurei Thomas Kamei, IQAC Coordinator; David Jiangamlung Kamei, Joint Coord inator IQAC; Dr MG Liangkuwang, Assistant Professor & HoD, Dept of Botany and Daidatlung Kameih, Assistant Professor & HoD, Dept of Sociology and AOC, Examination Section as the resource persons.
Ngamtinlun Touthang, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and Coordinator of the students' induction programme was also present on the occasion.

According to Ngamtinlun Touthang, students' induction programme are usually conducted at the College at the beginning of the new semester focusing on the 1st semester students alone.
But this time, it is being organised for all the students by broadening the topics assigned to the resource persons.
In his keynote address, Dr Maremmei focused on the importance of co-curricular activities apart from the syllabus as it will open new avenues for students' future careers.
He expressed appreciation for students who excelled in different fields including sports, music, painting, and also those who chose to be part of the first NCC batch of the College.
Meanwhile resource persons Namsurei Thomas Kamei spoke on the topic "Respect, Responsibility, and Accountability: An Insight on Students' Code of Conduct"; David Jiangamlung Kamei on "Cultivating Reading Habit in the Digital Era: Benefits and Obstacles"; Dr MG Liangkuwang on "Exploring Career Pathways in Sciences: Opportunities and Challenges" and Daidatlung Kameih on "Maintaining Academic Integrity and Minimising Mistakes: A Focus on Semester Examinations" .
During the programme, the result of the painting competition conducted on August 12 under the theme "Respecting the National Flag" as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga observation was declared and prizes were distributed to the winners.
Additionally, certificates were also distributed to the resource persons and partakers of the programme.
Meanwhile, Namgaying Newme, BA 3rd Semester student, presented a special number while Dr S Solomon, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, served as the Recording Secretary; Lugailiu Riamei, BA 2nd Semester student and Worthing Gonmei, BSc 2nd Semester student, were the moderators of the programme.
Ngamtinlun Touthang and James Pamei, Coordinator and Joint Coordinator of the programme proposed the welcome address and vote of thanks respectively.
